These advertisements are placed on the behalf of people who need to find their dogs a new home. We make no charge for this service either to the advertiser or the adopter. As with all private transactions don't assume everything you are being told is the truth!

WARNING: People who steal and abuse dogs, sell animals to laboratories and train fighting dogs often answer "free to good home" ads. For your dogs's safety, research potential adopters carefully before directing them to your home. For your dogs and your safety it is better still visit them.

NOTE: adverts are removed 2 months after their submission date. Please e-mail us if you find a home for your dog or would like to have your advert removed. All addresses are in the United Kingdom of Great Britain unless otherwise stated. Make sure you press CTRL R or click on your browsers Reload or Refresh button several times to see the latest version of this page.

E-mail your advertisement to advert@dogrescue.info Please remember to indicate where the dog is located.

Lost Your Dog? To place its details on this Notice Board, fill in the lost dog form at Lost Dogs UK (if the link is not working try again later) or at Lurcher Search UK (they will accept details of any breed). This service is free unlike some others. Paying to register a lost dog is no guarantee that it will be more effective in finding your dog than a free listing. Reporting your lost dog to either organisation will result in it being circulated to rescues, dog wardens and listed on Lost Dogs UK, Lurcher Search, champdogs.co.uk message board and the Dog Rescue Net Notice Board. Click here for other lost dog links. Please let us know if you find your dog.

No 'Wanted' Adverts We are no longer placing adverts here for people wanting dogs. You can put them on the Homes Offered section of the DRP Message Board. Click here to go to the Dog Rescue Pages Message Board

NOTE: we do not send e-mails from advert@dogrescue.net or advert@dogrescue.info If you receive one we did not send it so delete the message!

AOL Users Warning AOL are blocking mail from our server. This seems to be a common problem with many mail servers - see this web page. We suggest you do not use your aol.com e-mail account for adverts as people may not be able to respond to you. You can setup a free web mail account here.

Dogs are STOLEN everyday - have your dog microchipped. Dogs are stolen and end up in stray dog pounds miles from home. If they are not claimed within 7 days they can be rehomed or killed. Hundreds of 'stray' dogs are rehomed or killed every week because their owner cannot be identified. You have no right to claim the dog after 7 days. A microchip can also be used to prove that the dog is yours if ownership is disputed. Click here for more information.

Your dog is valuable to you - and to thieves! Dogs and puppies are being stolen everyday. Do not leave your dog tied up outside a shop or leave it in a car! Check how many dogs go 'missing' from gardens!
Keep Your Dog Safe
Walk your dog on a lead at all times. Do not leave your dog unattended in the garden. It is better not to put your dog in the garden at all as they can become targets. If your dog lives outside you should consider bringing it inside as dogs can easily be removed from locked kennels (see notices below). See the reports below of dogs 'missing' from gardens. Have your dog microchipped. It is likely to be the only way your dog will be returned to you if it is stolen and dumped. Dogs go missing from gardens, often at night. Houses are broken into and the dog is stolen. Dogs are stolen from unattended cars (see notices below). Dogs often go missing the same day that 'travellers' move on. All dogs can be sold or 'held for ransom' so don't assume your dog is not a target.

Missing Dog - Contact Information

If the notice has a code starting with LSOB or LSOD then e-mail lsuk@lurcher.org If you do not include the code number in the subject your message is likely to be treated as spam and deleted without being read.

THIS PAGE UPDATED 20th November 2008
20th November: Springer/Cocker Spaniel cross Needs a Home - Little Clacton, Essex, UK.
Jimmy is a Springer/Cocker Spaniel cross, male, 11 months approx, tri-colour, medium size. Jimmy is a lovely friendly dog. He is OK with dogs, but we do not know what he is like with cats. We are told he is house trained and does not chew. Dogs often become stressed in kennels and behave differently in kennels than they would in the home. Being a Springer cross, Jimmy is going to need a lot of exercise and entertainment. This dog is at:

Clacton Animal Aid
The Street,
Little Clacton,
Essex,
CO16 9LG

Tel: 01255 860062 (Calls taken from 10am - 5pm daily)

NOTE: In order to adopt this dog you must live within 15 miles of our centre and be able to comply with our adoption conditions. Area: Little Clacton, Essex, UK.
11th November: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel needs a good loving home - Essex, UK.
Brown and white KC Spaniel, 11 years old, well behaved, good natured, loving family pet needs a loving home to look after him in his old age. Doesn’t need lots of walking but still has lots of energy. A little hard of hearing but still very alert. Unfortunately needs re-homing due to work and personal circumstances can’t give him the attention or time he needs in his old age. For more information e-mail Wayne.Sherer@icap.com
13th October: 2 Border Collies Need a Home - South Yorkshire, UK.
Bill and Sam are both Border Collies and are both 5 years old. They have excellent natures, good with cats, other dogs and children. They are both very well trained, and will be very loving and loyal dogs to the right owners. They are both from different Rescue Centres, Sam was dumped in the middle of Wales and left to fend for himself. Bill was kicked out of his home in Northern Ireland, picked up by the Dog Pound and was in line to be put to sleep until the Border Collie Trust rescued him. Since being rehomed they are now like brothers and ideally would need to be rehomed together. The only reason these dogs need to be rehomed is due to me moving into rented accommadation, and not being able to take the dogs with me. If you can help or if you can point me in the direction of anyone who can please e-mail adverte172@dogrescues.info Area: South Yorkshire, UK.
22nd September Max Needs an Active Home - Plymouth, Devon, UK.
Max is a 3 year old Collie. He is a timid dog who can be defensive in his kennel. When he is out of the kennel he is very friendly and is completely toy obsessed which is useful for training purposes. He is very intelligent and has had quite a lot of basic training, however he does need experienced owners who are prepared to put in time training and socialising him. He is snappy around most other dogs and is highly protective of his food. In the right home and with correct input Max has the potential to make a brilliant dog. He needs a very active/working home to keep him happy and occupied! He is suitable to live with children over 16. Click on the photo to see a larger version.

For more information please contact Gables Farm Dogs' and Cats' Home, 204 Merafield Road, Plymouth, PL7 1UQ. Tel: 01752 331602, Fax: 01752 331604. E-mail info@gablesfarm.org.uk Please note we are only able to rehome animals to Devon and Cornwall.
